MTX compared to Ultimates

ahahhaha, owned im just goin to say mtx, because more than likely u are lookin on ebay, and alot of the dif name subs are the same company, which is shit, like cuspid, and like extreme, and pyramid......

I wouldn't waste any money on Ultimate subs, they are an unheard of brand for a good reason.

Get the most powerful single MTX you can and put it in a large ported enclosure tuned low, that would easily outperform a pair of sealed entry level 12's.

alright thanks, i was gona get the 2 ultimates, but if u guys say the 1 MTX is better then ill get it. i guess u get what u pay for. one 12 ultimate is $48 while 1 12 MTX is $79.

i hooooope your right about 1 MTX being better than 2 ultimates.

I really dont like either, but today my bother-in-law hooked up his 2 12" mzs-1204 subs and they are f****n loud. I was really suprised on the sound they gave, with only 350watts (4250D). //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

I'm not defending Ultimate in any way - I don't know if they are garbage or simply so far outside of the mainstream that I have never heard of them but that's a bit of a silly statement, I'd say.
In early 1995 no one had ever heard of Diamond Audio Technology.

Once upon a time no one had heard or seen any Orion gear.

There was once a time when you might have heard someone say, "Fujitsu Ten? Who the f*ck are they?"

Every piece of equipment has its time, then something else comes out and takes over.

It wasn't a question of a specific piece or pieces of equipment.....it was talking about manufacturers.
To hear some tell it Eclipse decks are the be all/end all of in-dash receivers.

There was a time when it wouldn't have been that unlikely to hear someone say, "Fujitsu Ten? Who the F*CK are they?!?"

A blanket starement of "They're unheard of for a reason," isn't necessarily a reasonable assumption.
