MTX 9500 not hitting hard !

Just installed my MTX9515-04 in a 60L box, powered by a 1000w rms at 4 ohms amp.

The box is behind drivers seat in a ford ranger and it is not hitting hard.

what´s the problem?

maybe the car "gain" ?

i thought this mtx would hit really hard that !!

First off, if the sub is a dual 4. Then an amp that puts out 1000w @ 4 ohms isn't going to help you. Dual 4 subs can only be wired to 2 or 8 ohms. unless your amp puts out decent power at either of those ohms, your not going to get much out of it...

I don't see you saying that anywere in there but who cares. Is the box sealed or ported? I'm taking it that it is sealed due to the fact that you are in a truck. That could be your first problem, also tuning the gains on your amp is also a big plus for sound. I havn't gotten to that in my install yet but even when I turned them up just a hair I had a huge increase in output. Those are the 2 things that I can think of that might be your problem...

the gain is already set at 70%.

the box is sealed, i dont have enough space to ported.

just saw a 9500 vid and man, that xmax is insane ! mine would never do 50% of it.

should i brake in the sub?

what else it could be?

you won't get full xmax in a small sealed box....

what amp puts out 1000wrms at 4 ohms? just curious, as i have seen very few of those...

also, 60l works out to like 2.1 ft^3...the 9500 needs a touch more then that..the sledgehammer is 4.7ft^3 before displacement....so box size might be an issue as well...

yeah, increase the box size...although with 1kW, be very careful with lowering the Q like that. Danger to the sub goes up along with enclosure volume //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

i think it's a Class T, i don't pay a lot of attention to that. I bought it off Ebay for around $325 shipped, a week or so before they discontinued them and made them hard as hen's teeth to find.

soo what size of box should i use?

i just built it as the manual says.

my amp is a wharf spx999b (http://www.wharfaudio.com.br).

well, mtx puts them in bigger enclosures..but..

i know nothing of ur amp..though it says 1000 wrms@4 ohm bridged.....it might not put out the power it claims...

i think a larger box would help a bunch...

are u running an aftermarket head unit? low input voltage will affect it as well....

what if i put some polyfill inside the box?
