The type rs should get a little louder. They are ok. That should be a decent swap out. Theirs no telling if you would get that much louder though until you test it out. It should be pretty close though

youve got a great sub in your car, maybe try swapping boxes? ported (different tuning) /sealed/ clamshell

What is it you dont like about the MTX? Or are you just wanting something different?

my advise is that you can try the type R's...but dont get rid of the 9500...and if you're not satisfied then you can always resell the R's and buy another 9500

the guy is 18, im sure he is low on funds. This is probably why he wants to trade them out because of equality in price.

What power do you have now?

Depending on your music selection, the type S's would be a better pick with the 801d - will be louder at the sacrifice of some low end... With more power type R for sure.
