Mtx 6000

I was wondering if the MTX 6000's 12'' subs were any good. I was thinking about getting two 12's, and I can get a really good deal on them. Will these subs hit pretty hard, or will they ****. I want a lot of bass cause I listen to rap. And also, what kind of box should I put them in?

I started out with an mtx T4124 and burned it out immediately playing bass mekanik with my 425 watt mtx rt2200x. since I had bought a repair warranty, I went and exchanged it for another one. I blew that one too. Then I convinced them to upgrade my sub to a T 6124. Playing the sin waves on the CD blew that sub too. I decided to upgrade to T8124A. Now it doesn't blow, but it flutters when I put everything on max.

We need to know what you're going to power those subs with. I think the T6124 has 250 watts rms and 500 watts peak. look at the specs at the http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/products/subwoofers/thunder6000.cfm

I have mine in a 1 cu ft sealed enclosure. Reading the spec sheet that comes with it they tell you they recommend about 1.24 cu ft. So for 2 maybe about twice that air space. I prefer sealed enclosures cuz I like the bass to be really punchy and rough. don't know about you though.

I have a friend that drives a Honda Civic that has (2) 12" MTX 6000 series sub with a 1000watt MTX amp and it bass good. I would recommend them and use an enclosure box because if you get a band bass your car will rattle and it won't sound pretty.
