I have been out of the car audio game for a while but am slowly getting back into it and have been toying with the idea of selling one of my amps to recoupe some cash. I tried to search but didnt really see anything recent as far as prices go on this amp.

Is it better for me to keep it or sell it and throw some cash ontop to get a amp with newer technology?

The last time I was on this forum I was trying to get a RE sub for output and sound quality. How would the 2300 fare with a RE sub?

Looking to run a 10" or 12".

All opinions are welcomed guys.

That's a solid amp...

I have a boner for older MTX amps so I would just keep it. BUT it puts out max power at 4 ohms bridged, so you're stuck with running a single D2 or pair of D4s, etc.

Old RE > New RE IMO.

older mtx amps were awesome except for the issues with the rcas. haven't seen too many of those that didn't have broken rca jacks.I actually have a couple here now. An mtx thunder 2300 and an mtx thunder 240 as a matter of fact.

my first real competition car had four mtx thunder 2300's. they were kinda mismatched though. I had one black thunder 2300,a chrome 2300(bad ass and most powerful of the four),and two thunder 2300x's running two 15s in a wall. This was back in 2000

I had my old 2300x running a pair of eclipse alums. Ahh the good old days of A/b sub amps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You can wire those subs up @8 ohms if they are both SVC4 ohm subs, and that amp will run fine after being tuned properly...
