mtx 1501d vs pa a3000db

My amp is running at 1 ohm currently. Even the birth sheet has a rating at 1 ohm.

then you have the new one. gross.

Yeah also check out what else that FOUR YEAR OLD thread says...

Somethings up with your install

and you can't even compare the two because i'm sure you were not maintaining 14.4 volts like the Lanzar was the lanzar does less than 900 watts at 12 volts

the 3000db was louder than my MTX 81000D at 1 ohm

and a 81000D is doing a whole hell of a lot more than 1100 watts at 1 ohm

I have a mtx 801d and it is a great amp. Do you guys know if it can be modded to run at 1 ohm like the 1501d? mjf, you have the newer 1501d but I wouldn't say it's gross. MTX still makes good amps, just a little overpriced for what you get.

x2 I wished I never sold mine but thats how it goes when you like to try out different things.
But on a side note the 1501d is only 2 ohm stable unless you mod it to drop to one ohm and have it run about 1800 + watts. It is a very well built and reliable amp. KInda reminds me of my Sundown 1500 I have now. MTX 1501d ftw.
all of you are wrong. i've used both amps extensively. daily 1 ohm bumping on the mtx 1501d will cause it to overheat and eventually blow. It'll take the abuse for a while but it will in time go. If you have a solid electrical and can maintain 14+v then it might run a little cooler, but @ 1 ohm the PA will perform better at 12-14v.

Now MTX is by far a better quality brand than Power Acoustic, thats for sure. and under normal circumstances it's safe to assume MTX > PA.

BUT in this case, 1 ohm daily is better suited for the power acoustic. More power and it'll be more reliable. Just like the lanzar vibe and optidrive series, this particular series of PA amps happens to be very solid and reliable for that budget range of amps. The mtx's are nice, and i had alot of fun with the 2 i owned. but trust me, for this particular application, that PA will run better and probly be louder.

P.S. as far as "sound quality", as long as the signal isnt being clipped, i couldnt tell a differance between the 2 as far of the bass SQ. that's my 2 cents

the mtx's are durable as hell and i put them to the reliability test, but they could only take about 30-45min of heavy bassing on 12v and 1ohm before getting overheated. At .5ohm burps you could get about 30 seconds to a minute before you feel the heat and need to let it rest. But they'll take a good bit of abuse. But for 1ohm daily the PA was much better to me. got to play with the PA on a steady 14.4v too and it amazed me how loud it got my 4hp. got **** near as loud as the 2 1501d's daisy chained to the old 4hp paper cone. Granted the install variables were more in favor of when the PA was on the sub, but still impressive.

the MA audio HK4000d is crap. the orion 2500d's out perform them.

i had the PA on my tc 5200 18 with a good electrical. it was wanging right up on par with how my kx 2500.1 was doing. the mojo 4kw was a little louder (obviously), but the PA was right up there keeping up with getting that sub to get loud. For the money can go wrong with that amp. If youi're gonan spend anymore than whatever uh ave planed for that PA, then get a kx or zx 2500.1. end of story. if you want reliablility and shear impressivness, get the kicker. otherwise the PA is what you need
