ok i recently posted a comparison of the MTX and Kicker 1200.1 amps...and just about everyone said go with the modded 1501D to run 1 ohm for my 2 kicker l7 (dual 4 ohm) subs. now i found this rockford for the same price i could get the MTX for and am wondering now>>>>MTX 1501D modded to run 1 ohm or the ROCKFORD T10001bd??? both for the same price

Don't let the word "modded" make you think its automatically a better amp for your needs, seriously consider exactly what you really need your new amp to be able to do for you and make your decision based on that.

i dont think the mtx is better cause its modded its just that it has to be to run my subs at 1 ohm on it...everyone says the mtx is a solid amp and im more curious which would sound better? and the mtx puts out 1000x1 at 2 ohms 12.5v where as the rockford puts out 1000x1 at 1 ohm at 14v...so the mtx is putting out as much power 2 ohm at a lower voltage then the rockford at 1 ohm and higher voltage...im curious if anyone has been able to compre the 2 in sound quality

The RF is heavily underrated from their "rated" power. Most of them will do 1000w @ 2ohm and ~1600w-1700w @ 1ohm.

Also, the only reason RF is "rated" at 14.4V is because they are CEA-2006 compliant.

You won't hear an audible difference between them.

x2 that ^^i have the t10001bd amp it is a great amp //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/veryhappy.gif.fec4fed33b4a1279cf10bdd45a039dae.gif my amp puts out 1500watts rms at 85%efficiency with no modification //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

generally the RF would be a bit more exspensive and you'll get close to the same quality out of each..... im running a modded mtx 1501d @ 1 ohm with no problems..and i run the ***** hard.....

the mtx does an amazing job at 1 ohm...and for 235+ ship (in the classified now) that is one HELLLLLLLL of a deal.....if u can get the rockford for that price then go for the rockford but IMO the noticable quality differance is going to be slim to non and u can get the mtx alot cheaper.....
