MTX 1004... does it really need 1/0 gauge?

I am using a MTX 1501d for my subs and a MTX 1004 for mids/highs. It is rated at :

125 X 4 @ 4

250 X 4 @ 2

I am going to be using it at 125 X 4 @ 4 ohms. In the manual it says that 1/0 is MINIMUM for power/ground. 500 watts at 4 ohms doesnt really sound like a requirement for 1/0. Do you think I will be find with 4 gauge?

I will be running 1/0 back to the second battery, and 1/0 to the 1501d, wanted to do 4 gauge to the 1004 and 404 because I cant find a distroblock with 2 1/0 outputs

if you are going to drop the imp. load quite a bit, you Will need 1/0 //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
