Was your point something along the lines of anything greater than 5.5 ohms would be less than 2200 watts with 110 volts?
Ok fine, sure, and if you put the speakers in ice water they could probably take 2200 watts RMS all day long, lets keep things in relative terms for simplicity. Subs run at about 4 ohms or lower hence the breakers govern the power load. I think that much can be assumed, and obviously in his case it was! You and I are NOT idiots, lets move on.
BTW, yes we do make underwater subwoofers for the record. The NAVY uses a few of ours.
