Has anyone ever modded or heard of a mod done to an alpine mrv-1507? .. i know that some of the kicker amps can be modded to handle lower loads and shit.. also, alpine rates the amp as 4 ohm stable bridged.. and not 2 ohm. Has anyone ever used this amp at a lower impedance?

I dont have experience with this amp, but I do with the smaller version, the MRV-T757.. It is 1ohm stable, though alpine only says 2 ohm stable, its been proven time and time again to be 1 ohm stable. Though I am unsure about the 1507.. But I would assume it can handle a lower impedence.

i had the 1507 before. I never ran it under 4ohms though, so i can't tell ya much...

it probably will put out more power, but **** alot of current because it's a Class A/B amp.

mmhmm... a/b sounds soooo good though. Class D just sounds like garbage to my ears.

Well if i decide to get another amp for my new setup, im gonna run the new subs at 1 ohm and burp em till the amp gives... or ill just mod the amp with 2 120mm PC case fans in the bottom of the amp. I think that would keep it moderately cooler... what do you think?
