uhh advertising budget and the fact its become a fashion statement has nothing to do with it I'm sure.. They make a good unit, I've been using them since they came out, they just dont have the SQ and features I've always looked for in a unit.

If Apple is better at marketing a superior product, you can't possibly hate on them for that. You are probably going to hate on Type-r's next aren't you??!!

Now, put Apple's marketing strategy with Pyle subs and you'll still say the same thing. I don't think the iPods are bad, just not superior. It may be superior in terms of sales & profit, but as far as doing what it's supposed to do, it does it more or less.

ipod's are awesome imo. better than anything else ive used(ive tryed dell and iriver, nothing more though) and imo its not worth spending the money if your not getting an ipod:uhoh: then again, ive been on the band wagon since the 5gig 1st gen's

I had a 10gig 2nd gen before the bandwagon came. It was decent, until I met my Rio Karma...and I wondered why I had wasted so much time with the iPod.

iPod has been genious with their marketting I'll give them that. Whenever you can turn a product into a trend you are gonna cash in. The new micros are pretty **** cool looking I must say, havent really played with them much yet though, only the sorority/coasties are the ones carrying them around so far.

where is the cheapest place to get an mp3 player? from what i have found out it's $300 for a 20 gig iriver and the same price for a 30 gig ipod. how exactly do the itunes work?

itunes is stupidly easy to use, hell- my wife can use it so that says a lot. Ripping cds is simple, burning cds is simple, updating the ipod is simple...do you see a trend? ipods are like pretty much every apple product made, simple to use, and dead nuts reliable. Don't even get me started on why Macs are better than PC's for everything but gaming.......

Just because it sells doesnt make it any better than anything else. Sony subwoofers anyone?
