mp3 navigation: a´lpine vs pioneer

From the posts in this forum, I would say there is a general consensus that the mp3 navigation from alpine head units is better than that from its pioneer counterparts. (I’m referring to the most basic head units, not the advanced ones) I have never seen any of these units in real life, so I was wondering what are the differences between the two. I have and alpine 7894 and the navigation is really easy..they even have buttons that function as folder up and down. keeping it seperate..can't go wrong with it!!!
