mounting...

Originally posted by mgaidica is it alright to mount the subs w/out all 8 screws. it took me about 2 hours to mount both my subs, and now i want to make a ported box but it suks cause i have to switch them, so???
how does it take two hours to mount the sub?

and i would say YES.. use all the screws. the screws are what keep the sub from being ripped out of the box. the stroke of the sub might be enough force to pull the screws out... just something to think about. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Originally posted by mgaidica well i drilled holes like a little (well kind of a lot, mistake #1) smaller than the screw, i hand screwd each one in, and there were 16 all together....

fill it w/ wood filler and drill again. should be fine. what i did for my subs was...place the subs in the holes...take a pencil and mark where the screw holes are. take the subs out...drill pilot holes. put the subs back in, and with the power drill and a phillips tip, drill the screws in...

i can see why it would take two hours to screw the screws in by hand....
