Oddly enough I can't find it on Alpine's site and I was just seconds away from cutting a circle when I had no idea how large it really was. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Mounting diameter of what?
Diameter of the sub cutout. Sorry I didn't really say that the way I should of.

They're 12 inch Type R woofers and I don't know how big to make the cutout.

Even if you said "diameter of sub cutout", I would have done that //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif I meant the product you were dealing with...

I don't know that off the top of my head, but I'm sure Alpine tech support would get back to you on that...or, you could just measure it roughly.

I don't know how I'd go about measuring that... I want it to be as perfect as possible... all of my previous boxes had some messup halfway through cuz of me pushing to get it done. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

1.) Because it's a common driver, I'm sure a Google search will work.

2.) Or, take a string and run it around the outside of the basket...use junior high math to calculate the diameter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif C=pi*dia.

Junior high math, you're kidding me right?

****it. I guess I didn't do the right thing when using the router, because it's just a hair too short. I have no clue how I'm going to get it a bit wider, I was going to just sand the living hell out of it with the belt sander until I realized... we have no sand paper... *mad*

Okay, I'm kind of pissed off.

I did the first sub cut out, JUST a tad too short. Okay, no big deal. So I started sanding the hell out of it, got it REAL nice. So I do the second one, I'm sitting there with the router then something from underneath shoots onto my leg that's red hot, I jump for a second and when I look up the router took a cut where it shouldn't of. Ironicly enough, the wire I had attached from the side of the router to the center point had came loose that instant, so the router went off track.

So I produced nothing but a hunk of trash, and after all of that sanding too. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

How do you folks do your sub cutout? I mean, even if it's crazy, tell me some ideas... I wanna stay away from jigsawing because it's not as great as far as getting a nice clean cut. I wouldn't mind using the router again if I had a DEFINITE plan on keeping it 100% straight without question...
