Mounting angle for subs, anyone approached before?

Ok since most of the subs use the same basket (ava, XXX, etc) I would have thought that my quesiton would have been answered before, but I couldn't find it.

Basically what is the mounting angle possible for use with these subs? A nice 2d drawing with all the dimensions would help, but i can't find one of those either.

I'm wanting to have a box with a slanted front, so what are my options, obviously how much height i have is the deciding factor. I'm hoping to make the box 16" tall and have a 15" ava in it, just guessing it looks like i should be able to pull off a 60degree angle on the front face (from the horizontal)

If anyone has done this before or has a nice scale drawing it would be much appreciated.

I dont see the problem

It shouldnt matter what angle you put it at.

I put a 12" sub in a 13" tall enclosure, it overlapped the sides but it fit and didnt go over the edge.

the baskets are the problem. if you mount it at much of an angle the basket hits the bottom of the box.

couldnt you just take a stick and a tape measure and check if it would fit ?

stick/tape is how i've been doing :-D the ghetto'ness of it scares me though. I am nearly ready to just invert the bastard, would make my install SOOO much easier. but i've never been that much of a fan of inverted subs,

Just invert them. They are eaiser to mount and wire.

I wasnt a fan until i tried it one day. Its actually not as bad as it seems.

You will gain a fair amount of cubic ft as well.

Hmm, if the weather is nice tomorrow i might go out and invert my sub :-D stick it firing up, see how it does. If i enjoy the sound and don't get any unwanted noise then i'll use it on my next design.

But now the other problem, if i sawsall the opening like planned, i'm going to mount the sub on an angle cause that is how the trunk lines flow, inverting the sub is going to cause it to hit the back of the seat (i prefer front firing).
