Mounting an amp to the back of the seat

I plan on mounting an amp to the back of my rear seats. Underneath the carpeting is a thin metal sheet, but it's not a flat surface. It's got some shallow grooves and a variety of holes and openings.

Should I mount the amp directly to it, or should I mount an mdf board and then mount the amp to that? And does it matter how thick the mdf board is? Thanks.

mount it to some wood

i would mount it to wood, or if you mount it to metal, put some rubber feet in between the amp and the metal.
