i used to ride trials on my Trek 7000.. well, as far as it would take me. i broke so much stuff on that pile.
I learned on a Trek 4300. 17" chainstays hindered my learning, but it was definately possible. Slapped some HS-33's on it, an Onyx rear hub on a DX32 and it was good enough until I got my new frame. But I did tend to break at least one thing on the bike per session. Partly because I was a hack, partly because the bike sucked monkey balls.

Nice. I'm sure I'd appreciate it more if I knew the first thing about BMX's, though. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I haven't even rode one since I was a little weiner.

I broke a frame, countless other parts, derailers (sp?), sprockets, bent cranks.. blew out forks (mine had elastomer front susupention.. ick), broke pedals..

i too was a hack, but i also ran DS with it, hahaha. God i bent/broke so much stuff on that thing.

I got really heavy into trail riding the last two summers...there's some nice trails about 20min away from my house. I also went out to oregon last summer and rode a few trails (rode down Mt. Ashland).

I'm out of the trail biking sceen now though, no trails near campus //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Next summer I'll be back though, maybe with a bike upgrade (I hope although money probably will not premit)

i come across cranks at work in decent shape occasionally when people upgrade. Is it square taper or octalink? how many teeth on each ring?
