motor noise ?

just installed a small Xplod amp in a tercel for a girlfriend, along with an xplod cd player too, I used 10 awg power/grounds, I used tsunami brand rcas which have a built in remote wire which I used for rem. I ran the rcas ziptied with power wire to front of car, I got the system going and it sounds good for a small system, my gf left with the car then called me right up and said she can hear weird noise while accelerating--I knew it was engine noise--but not sure where to look. the grx is grounded in trunk area on a small autozone ground connector--prob not the greatest connectors--but suggestions ?

did you just say uran the power and rcas together?? first off thats a no no.... secondly you need to ground the HU better. someone please make a sticky for how to solve these problems ive seen like 100000 of them lately

Power wires on one side of car. RCA's on the other. Make sure you have **** good grounds. Turn down the gain a bit.

& Xplod could be your problem too, had the same problem, thought I had blown some noise filters on the amps, just to find out it was the piece of shit xplod hu. Had the spendy one too like 350 for the one that had the black screen and was motorized etc. Bought an eclipse 3000d for about 150$ cheaper and it sounds a hell of a lot better and has 3 sets of preouts @ 5v which is awsome. Hope this helps. Oh yea and it actualy plays cds unlike the xplod unit after about a year.

That fixed it! ran rca's and power opposite sides and the noise is gone--xplod is not my choice of audio by far. My girlfriend just wanted something inexpensive and I had the equipment in one of my other cars I don't use that often.
