You probably got scammed. I highly doubt the sub would be physically unharmed with a drop hard enough to demagnetize the motor.

The only way I see a sub magnet becomming completely demagnetized is if it was in close proximity to a very strong alternating magnetic field....

maybe if it sat next to a 15hp electric motor for a few months ?

I still doubt it....

I call BS - usually only EXTREME high heat will kill the motor and even then all the slugs will crack. Best way to take a motor apart.
