Unless by "conservative" you mean they just left out the fact that it can really handle double "what we are posting". I mean does a LMS rated at 5k really take like 9k ? doesnt sound right to me, unless its just a warranty thing.

Because you can get the same coil and suspension in a lvl4?
The lvl5 is just a bigger motor, which isn't necessary on such a small cone/the same moving mass.

Everybody has a boner for these big huge motors, when a lot of the time they are completely unnecessary.

My 9510F is only ~40 pounds and it will put some of these 70+ pound subs to shame.

if the cooling is the same on the level 4 as it is the level 5 then i can go with that, if it isnt, the same soft parts wont hold up to the same type of abuse.

yea I want to think they could take more but when I had asked long while back, i was told they just don't have much room for movement, etc or some bs like that.

this was for a daily setup question as well.

i'll stick to 12s and up on the MTs just to be safeish lol.

You can get a bigger coil in the lvl4, as evidenced in the lvl4 xl.

Power handling can't be that much different. I'd wager that the coils are damn near identical in both.

Besides, who's to say that the lvl5 would be louder anyways? Especially in 10" form. There is such a thing as overkill when it comes to subwoofer motors.

Rusty is to say that....I've talked about both the xl and the lvl 5....on 2k the xl would be louder...but if you can get 3-4k on each then the lvl 5 is the way to go....but then again i dont know what i'm talking about cuz i never had a 9510....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif
