Most efficient 10"

I'm trying to help my uncle get more out of his stock JBL system in a 2007 20' Maxum. It consists of a JBL/Prospec MR6.2 HU, ma6004 amp (60x4/80x4), 2x JBL ms6100 & 2x JBL ms9200. I THINK I can make some improvement just by tuning the amp, but he has mentioned the possibility of adding a small subwoofer -- he suggested a 10". He will be limited on amp power though. I would either put all 4 spkrs on 2 ch of the amp leaving 160w at 4 ohms for the sub, OR add a small sub amp (~300w).

What comes to mind for a 10" sub that can put out some decent sound w/o getting a ton of power?

I may start by replacing the 6100's with JBL's ms6200's -- I just think those dual cone speakers are crap regardless of the brand.

He has some money, but I know he doesn't want his boat overtaken by a giant sound system. This will have to be simple, but hopefully effective.

obviously the box would be critical...I'm thinking smallish ported, tuned fairly high for some 40-50 spl. Trying to get much below 40 out of a 10" in an open environment would be pretty pointless IMO.
