Mosfet blown at low volume..why?(hifonics)

do not send it to CIA. Theyve had my amp for 6 months...not even fixed...was supposed to send it back over a month ago and still dont have it...and this isnt the first time something like this has happened with them.

I wish you guys were local to me, I gotta guy that'll do these repairs for under 100$
hahaha thanks for the info? Id like to keep this geared towards someone who actually is certed to work with hifonics(unless i heard otherwise), cause they know the issue(s) with the amps. Im sure if i send it in somewhere less heard of, fix the mosfet/other components, then itll be back in the shop in no time. Unless they know about the drive card issues these amps have....//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

is audiosavings repairing it or just giving you the warranty(i.e giving you another amp).
Cause none of the places have responded back(cia or that other place)...so pretty much just have a bricked amp up in my closet.
im guessing that they will give me a new amp.

where did you but that from?

Also, Mike does not handle RAs, you will have to talk with the ladies in the RA department. That's where Mike will direct you.
hey bro. i think audiosavings will send me a new hifonics goliath xxv.

do you thing it will still have that problem?

so does that mean almost all the hifonics goliathxxv are crap because of the faulty driver whatever?

I was told that the new XXVs do not have that issue. There may have been one batch at the beginning of production last year that had issues but they are fixed now.

I am running a new XXV Maxximus which uses 2 Goiliath boards and I have had not issues at all.

Audio clinic said because of vibrations in the car the amps internals could rattle loose causing it to self destruct. Quoted me that it may cost up to $500 to fix depending on how bad it is...ahhhhhh ****

Thats a load of bull.

Amps have been being used in cars for 30+ years with all types of road vibrations and rattling from bass. Amps are designed for this environment.

I guess it is technically possible but,

If this has ever happened it's been rare and from extreme rattling and only on cheaply made amps.

In my 15+ years in the industry I have never seen it happen. I have had amps installed for 10+ years in some vehicles with no issues.

yeah that's fvcked up. Theres no way that should cost $500 to fix. Maxxsonics should stand behind that a little better than to leave you hanging with a repair bill that large.

EXACT C/P from email

'The biggest problem that I have seen with these amps is that if you install it too close to the speaker box the vibration will cause some of the legs of the power devices in the amp to break which will cause the amp to self destruct. The parts to repair these amps are very expensive so I don't stock them. Repair time is about 3 weeks from the time I receive it. Cost of repair on one of these can run up to $500.00 depending on badly it is blown.

Sounds like $500 is the price to give a full job if your shit is blown to bits. Unfortunately mine is not, but i wouldnt be surprised if they slap a expensive ticket on it to repair haha.

About to ship it off,,,,finally found a big enough box.

Anyone else agree that i should sell this once it comes back fixed? I just dont trust the goliath model in general anymore now because of this.
