Mosfet blown at low volume..why?(hifonics)

Like I said, there is a faulty driver card. That means that the blown MOSFET is a secondary failure. I bet there is also a blown cap or 2 and a few other components.

Parts are hard to get and thats one reason why CIA is backed up. Some amps need the entire board replaced.

Yes, i was chirped when i first looked at the board upon receiving the amp. Some components looked like they were straight ready to blow, capacitors with markings rubbed off/casings blown out(not black/brown on the board). Im sure it took out whatever was around the mosfet, a couple caps and what not.

What can you do, its the waiting game now.

Looks like im going to have to purchase another back up amp for now.

i'm sure you can find pretty much any part you need from mouser electronics

does that faulty driver card issue also apply on the hifonics goliath XXV series?

I think so.

Some guy got a brand new out of the box XXV goliath(think i seen the thread on here), blew it out similarly to my situation..mosfet went out.

that was me man. i sent my amps back already. i think they wwill send it back next week. got it from audiosavings. i was surprised that they actually have good customer service.

is audiosavings repairing it or just giving you the warranty(i.e giving you another amp).

Cause none of the places have responded back(cia or that other place)...so pretty much just have a bricked amp up in my closet.
