More of what I expected for the new BTL

Don't get me wrong the new BTL looks very promising but just a much smaller package then what I expected. This is a latle night, "cause I was bored" photoshop. Its nothign special but just gets the point across of what I was expecting. Anyone else as shocked as I was?

looks the same cept thats a 18" so those slugs are roughly 10 or 11" in diameter

Not me.. stacking slugs does not significantly increase flux in the gap... using a single wider slug makes much more sense...

There is no point.

If you add more material to that motor you will mess it up...it is designed the way they should be designed, instead of just slapping ferrite on something and calling it a day. It is not 'small' by any means (it is actually larger, and yes stronger than that of the coveted 4hp). If you do not need the magnet material, why put it on there? I mean it's no huge ordeal to pass off another 200 bucks in cost to the end user...with a motor that is weaker than it was with only 1 slug //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif. If you really want it lol. We are NOT going to come out with something that is inferior. Your eyes are just accustomed to the typical 'slap more ferrite on it' design to make it "better".

More magnet does not mean more better.

Why would you want more ferrite, there is a reason why they designed it with alot more steel and less ferrite, and since steel costs more than ferrite I assure you its not a cost cutting decision.

So why would they spend more money on a subwoofer, if it didnt make it better?
