More Juice ? Alternator Question

I have a 300ZX and killed the alternator recently. I wasnt aware of how critical this component was but I did slightly upgrade from 80Amps to 90A. I have about a 500W or so system, but I dont know if this is going to cut it? It is definately better, but the lights still dim when hitting the bass. Should I try to get a cap or just give and live with it and try not play it too loud?

Get either a faster discharging battery(optima or the like) or yet a larger alternator before you buy a cap.

arent amps worthy of handling around 10watts .... i mean, 1amp handlign 10 watts. i always thought you should gather your total system power and divide by 10 to get how many amps it pulls. not exactly but very close and towards the safe sid eif anything. 500 true watts shouldbt be pulling enough current to drown a 90amp alt in any situation
