mono amps

Mono amps have 2 sets of + and - right. Whats the point of that? My friend has a car that they bought from some guy that worked at BB and it has all Xplod stuff in it, and it has a mono Sony amp and has 2 subs in it, 1 wired to each set of + and -. Is that going to ruin the amp?

 
And to add on a bit to Jack's post, the point of the dual terminals on a mono-block is simply for easier wiring. Some people find wiring guides diffucult and would rather put two sets or speaker wires into two seperate terminals, opposed to wiring them to a single mono load.

 
the two pairs of terminals on mono amps are schematically the same connection. They are parallel to each other meaning if you connect a 4 ohm sub to each connection the amp sees 2 ohms.

If you opened up the amp it would look something like this:
