Mono Amp

Anyone know of Mono, Class D amp that puts about about 400w RMS at 4ohm?

I have 2 JL 12w0(original style) in a sealed JL powerwedge box wired to 4ohm load. It's currently powered by a fosgate Power 360 a2 but I'm looking for something a little more efficient and that is actually meant to power subs.

I want something around 150 bucks since I don't think I could get more than 120 or so for my fosgate.

Personally I would find a 100x2@ 4ohms and bridge it to 4ohms mono. Will be cheaper!

Pheonix gold makes a 400 watt mono amp. $50 on ebay. Actually a bridgeable amp that makes 100w X 2 @ 4 Ohms will generally make somewhere in the neighborhood of 150w-200w X 2 @ 2 Ohms which translates into 300-400w @ 4 Ohm mono bridged.

I don't understand how something at 4 ohms have more watt output than something at 2 ohms. Usually don't you have something with less resistance you have more wattage? May be a dumb question but that's what I always knew.

It is 400 x 1 @ 4 ohms instead of 200 x 2 @ 2 ohms.

It's not more output - it's actually the same output but configured differently.

An amp making 150w X 2 @ 2 Ohms will make 300w X 1 @ 4 Ohm mono bridged. The actual level of wattage (300w in both cases) hasn't changed - only how it's being presented. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You are referring to something being run 2 ohms stereo, not bridged to mono. Yes, on a mono amp lower resistance will = more wattage. I will try my best to explain. You have the 150-200w x 2@2ohm. That is in stereo, so the amp is seeing 2 ohms on each channel. You then bridge it so the amp is only seeing one channel which then makes the output to 300-400 @ 4 ohms because the amp is sending the power of 150-200@2 times 2 to one channel which would make the rating 300-400 @ 4 ohms
