Mono Amp for ID8

I have an Image Dynamics ID8 coming in a couple of days and I just wanted to know which amp would power it best in a free air setup. The specs say the sub can take 50-300 RMS. Right now, I have an Alpine MRPT220 2 channel amp that does 140RMS bridge at 4 ohms. I'm thinking I should replace it with an Orion 300D. Any feedback would be appreciated since I am relatively new to this.

is it a dual 2 or dual 4 ? if its a dual 2 you should just use the amp you've got now, running free air ir won't need much power to get going.

Image Dynamics said 200 watts RMS at 2 ohms would be ideal for a free air situation. Would this amp give me the power that I need?
