THIS I bought and sold a lot on here and has never been scammed because I only buy from sellers with lots of refs it amazes me how many buyers ignore refs when it comes to getting a good deal sometimes a deal that's to good to be true

True, but we all had zero refs at one time... New members would never make it, if no one bought from them because of refs. I agree, it is very important to talk with the person a lot. I think the mod idea would be a good idea, only for making sure the item was sent, before you send the person the money. Of course PayPal is suppose to help with this, but that is much more timely and doesn't always work. Not everyone would have to use this method, but if they chose to, they would pay the mod $20 + shipping just to hold the PayPal money until the package came, then send the money over and ship the item back out. I would deff be down to do that. It would not be the mod's job to test the product, check it for condition, etc. Just make sure the item has come in... Yes there is many variables, but to help those people with low or no refs, this may be an option.

I see this as you having four real options here.....

1: use paypal, and don't send money as a gift. If you are a buyer, all you have to do is report it as item not received or item not received in condition listed, and paypal will refund your money.

2: ask the seller to list the item for a buy it now price on eBay, and pay with paypal. This way you are protected by eBay and paypal if you are the buyer. This would be a pretty cheap option if you were really concerned as it'd probably only cost you $10-15 extra, and gives you a bit of peace of mind.

3: pay with your credit card using paypal so that you can file a chargeback on your card if the item is not received, or is not in listed condition. Again, this just gives you an extra level of protection.

4: offer a mod to pay him to provide services posted by the op.

Unless I've personally dealt with the seller before, I utilize at least one of these safety nets.....and some common sense (no pics with user name, etc...no sale).
