Modifiying my current boxes.

ok so im running a pair of new 09 alphas off a atomic 3000 at .5 ohm.

my boxes are 2 cubes net 48" port area tuned to 37 hz each box. there are 2 seperate boxes due to not being able to fit a single box in on its own.

I think i used to much port area cuz at high volumes the upper notes (50hz

basically i want to add a 3/4" piece of mdf to one of the port walls to lower the area and tuning. it will put me at 39" of area for each box and tun it to about 31 hz.

is it worth a shot or should i just build new boxes if im going to do anything?

hows 2.2 net tuned to 34 hz with 35" port area each sound?
