Next Wednesday I'll be getting be a nice new slim PS2 and I really wanted to put a mod chip in it. I just want one of the chips that allows you to play "backed-up" games. I'm really not too sure what chip to get or anything, so any advice would be helpful.

well if your good at soldering than its not that hard. should be ably to find directions online. like which wire goes where. i cant remember which chip i have. it was the $25 for the regular ps2

The soldering is very difficult. It is not even comprable to soldering two wires together, You are soldering a small wire onto an extremely small contact on a motherboard. If you are not very confident in your soldering do not try to do it yourself. BTY you can do just as much with the ps2 as an xbox, you just need to put a hard drive in as well.
