MODDED STETSOM 14k2d. NEED ADVICE

alright i picked up a Modded stetsom 14k2d 18v about a year ago and have been running it ever since. i just picked up another one a few days ago that was in the same group of amps that wer modded when i got my first one. but their is some differnt stuff going on inside. i have no idea what these things do. im wondering if someone can give me answers on weather or not i should get these parts removed, why they were added, and if i should run both of these amps even though they have a few different things. im really not comfortable with it but i want opinions.

the top picture is the new amp. It has 2 extra Blue caps that are soldered onto the legs of the originals. the bottom pic is the old amp that ive had. what are these doing?

The second thing thats different is a small disc cap soldered in that jumps across the board (didnt take a picture of it) ....

is anyone familiar with anything here?

get them modded the same? i would not run them with diffrent modds on it.

I'm confused. I'm seeing the same caps that are in the first pic in the second pic also...(or so it seems from the pics)

In the first pic there are 4, in the second there are only 2.

I see now... Hard to tell from the OPs second pic. But I'd contact Stetsom and show them the pics and see what they recommend you do.

The amp in this pic is one that we rebuilt.... I can tell from the goldish colored tape (kapton tape) under the rectifier diodes..... Doesn't come like that from the factory, only we would have done that.

yeah i would have never know that if you didnt tell me. O well its gone now... Do you do mods on stetsom amps?

I am not aware of any mods that can be done on them.... Someone probably just gave you a line of BS. Happens all the time.

Alright yeah i didnt know if you were able to add another row of caps like the other amp or not.
