mmats vs pb extreme

what would be a better choice for sql, both will be run in a ported box(unsure of size)

the mmats P3 would run off of a orion 1200D

the pb extreme would also run off of a orion 1200D

have a chance to purchase either for about the same price. just need to know which would be better as in which has better sq and which has better spl.

Ide definately go with the mmats in both applications. They have the ability to get very loud, and sound great while doing it.

I agree, that Mmats sub should definitely be the better all around sub

i chose the pb extreme, the thing is a monster, at least 15 pounds more than the mmats P3. but it should be installed tommorow so i will see if i made the right choice. i heard the P3 and it didn;t impress me. it was definitiely loud for only 1-12", but nothing over the top.

its all in the install. what kind of box did you hear it in, what amp. Just because a sub weighs more doesnt mean anything. alot of subs these days just have added weight.

The last time I heard the p3's I heard 2 12s in a honda accord in a slot vented box, being ran off an memphis 1000d, and you couldnt even sit in the car, and they go very low, but you already made your choice.

it was in a 2.5 cube at 35hz. thats also what the pbx in going in.

The dreadnaugt would have been a better sub to run with 1200 watts considering that the p3 is only rated at 750 watts.
