this a more sq or spl type sub how would you compare to alpine , jl, id,treo etc?

Sq, but it will get low and pound your brains out, don't worry. In my opinion, it is heads above any of the other brands you mentioned, if you do some research you will see that people absolutely love MMATS because of their quality. Made in the USA!! I'm sure people can sound off in here about MMATS
