mm1400.1d vs Brz1700.1d vs Mb quart onx 1500 vs Ap1800d vs powerbass xta1500.1d

I don't know about the other amplifiers, but I don't like the fact that MB Quarts mono block amplifiers (ref, onx, and q) require a mono signal on both of their RCA inputs (they do not sum the left and right input), meaning that you have to take just one (say left) sub out from head unit and split it with Y-splitter. I know that on 99% of recordings this will make not difference, but I am vary of company that makes you buy a $10 Y-splitter and possibly take a small hit in SQ so that it can save a few nickels on resistors to be used in amplifiers input section.

If it's within your budget, consider Boston Acoustics GTA-1000m. Rated for 1000watts at 2ohms, and Boston amps usually do the rated power, and a little more. Based on reviews, it seems like a fantastic mono block amp.

Unfortunately my budget is $200, which I can get each of these amps for. I've heard that the mb's can't sum stereo channels but I didn't think it would matter with a mono block sub amp. If its the company I should be wary of that would be maxxsonics, who makes the brz as well.

Maxxsonic is decent.thats it. Aps sre supper inefficient but will do power. Id go with the powerbass...

But for 200 buy a better amp thats used..like a saz1k or aq 1200.

Audiosavings.com offers Boston GTA-1000m for $239 with free shipping. Only 40 bucks over your budget. Eat cup noodles for a week and you could buy it.

i wouldnt put 1700 on a SA 15
i wouldnt even put an mbq 1500 on one....

try sticking to an amp that is more around 1200 rms
I think 15D4 is dual 4ohm, so wired for for 2ohm load, it will see the wattage that's available to 2ohm loads. 1000watts may seem like a lot, but that's the probably rating with 14.4V battery. In normal car, he'll probably see 800-900watts if the amp is rated for 1000watt RMS @2ohms with 14.4V battery.

I've only tried the powerbass and the mm1400, and the mm1400 is solid amp. As a joke of sorts, me and a buddy put a mm1400.1 on my wall and put it on the termlab just to see what it would do....148.9 db at 30 hz....lol IMO its a great amp.

Yes I am looking for a lot of headroom because I'm expecting voltage drops and the sa series can take 1200 wrms daily.
