So, yesterday I got all my **** installed (sorry I didn't take much pics, was trying to beat the rain) and Im having weird results.
First off, it sounds great and bangs. Sounds soooooooooo much cleaner then my Kicker. Now, while listening, I was cautious at first because I know this amp (Sundown SAE 1200Dv2) can pull more amps then my alt can supply, so eventually I turn it up while cruising at night and wow, no light dim @fullish tilt, voltage hovering around 14v on the factory meter.... Im thinking great.... maybe I wolnt need a HO alt....
So Im cruising, listening to some tunes, and shes banging away, then all of a sudden, its sounds like this, best way I can describe it... Boom, boom, boooom, DOOM, DOOM, DOOM, DOOM, boom..... Like the amp just tripled the power for a few notes.... I watch my voltage drop, and Im thinking holy ****, wtf..... Thats great!!! It wasn't like something was wrong with the install.... Just I dunno how to describe it.... I saw the true power of what that amp can dump out for a few seconds. It sounded great!
Now, my question is.. Did it just hit the resonate freq of my car, or something? Why can I full tilt np, then all of a sudden, on certain notes, it just absolutely SLAMS, then goes back...
Gain set with DMM best I could, set conservative @ 34v even. Waiting on a guy to tune her with DD-1 soon... Guess Im asking because I wasnt blown away on initial start up / listening.... Only when the above happened gave me the "WOW" factor that I wanted...
Any thoughts?
