Mitsubishi Endeavor Stereo Removal

Hi I'm trying to remove the stock car stereo to get the code on the back - so I

can replace my battery wuthout losing the radio.

Can someone please help....I have no idea how to remove this thing?

You can buy a device at Wal-Mart that plugs into a live cigarette lighter plug (one hot all the time) you plug a 9v battery into the end the other in the socket and it will save your radio info....these run a few bucks and are located by the battery acc's at Wal-Mart...a very handy tool ...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

1.Using PRT, extract entire dash bezel surrounding radio,

a.c. controls, and a.c. vents.

2.Using a PHS, extract (2) at base of LCD Display.

3.Using PRT, unsnap LCD trim bezel.

4.Using PHS, extract (4) screws securing factory LCD.

5.Using a 10mm socket and ratchet extract 1 bolt at the

rear of the radio which is accessible after the LCD monitor

is removed.

6.Using a PHS, extract (4) screws securing factory radio.

Disconnect and remove.

Really? I called the dealership and they said that when I

change the car battery - my radio will stop working until I put in a code...

And the only way I can get that code is by removing the radio

and giving them the serial number on the back so he

can pull up the code I need...

Is that not true?

i have a 04 endeavor limited and i called the dealership and they said they dont have codes mine had the 6 disc premium system but i took mine apart and got a flip up dvd player now but i switched my battery 3 or 4 times when i had the stock one and never needed a code but if for some reason you do need a code the silver panel pulls right off just a lil force is need no special tools nothing

That sounds good. Do those 3 knobs for the A/C, the climate control etc. just pull out?
