missing radio fuse cause of problem?

Dude, Trying to help you out here. Its hard to do it over the net. The space in your fuse block shouldn't matter. If the radio was working before, and you are using the harness, then your power source will be the same as before. No matter what HU you use. Here is a link to your wiring diagram. Make sure that all the wires are correct. I had a wiring harness one time that on of the wires was switched. Easy fix but confusing at first. http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/GM-Wiring.pdf

hey guy actually when i was looking at that i found something wierd

when looking at the gm wiring.pdf from install dr. , it says wire N is unused, but when i hook up the 4 gm harness's to the harness adapter, the wire comming from harness adapter identifys wire N as illumination(and also changed its color to orange)??? so install doctor says its unused but obviously the harness identify's it as illumination and even gives it the orange color ??

so what do you all think? for expirmintation i went out there and unhooked WIRE N comming out of the harness adapter from the orange illumination wire comming from the alpine , and i hooked up wire K (headlight dimmer wire, which was previously just taped off by itself) to the orange wire (illumination) on the alpine but nothing changed, same blinking as before

arg this is making me so fustrated and the shop where i left my number at never even called back!

I didn't take the time to read this entire thread, but if you are having problems with power to the hu then why not run a dedicated power line? while you are at it a dedicated ground as well. Or just ignore my post all together...lol

ok i gotta go see some financial aid stuff but when i get back if i dont have work ill try to touch the yello + red wires to the positive battery term and ground to negative , if this makes it work then your right im gonna run a dedicated power line

ok i just got back inside, i tested it on my subaru and it turned right on! red yellow wired together then extended with a old appliance cord and ground extended the same way on the battery and the thing turned right on, i played around with it and everything

but when i did the same thing on my buick it wouldent even turn on, WTF i hate american cars, so i guess im gonna hvae to run the power directly from battery in the buick to see if this works
