Missed Apt charges???

Well i had an apt with a dentist who was highly recommended to me.

First time i drove 15 miles and was late by 10 minutes because of the road block. They didn't let me in and told me i had to reschedule.

Now on my third appt i overslept and yesterday i got a letter stating that i have to pay for missed apt.

I called them to clear everything out and let them know i had no idea about this policy and asked to waive the fees. And they told me they already waived once-the first time ( when i was actually there waisted my gas, my time, and still was sent back home) and this time i will have to pay.

I didn't give them my social but they do have my address and my insurance info.

to me its not a matter of money but principle.

Apts are Apts - keep them.

Your time spot could have gone to someone else who would have kept their apt and the dentist would have been paid for his time which = money.

any high price or in demand Dr's office will do that if you miss appointments, they see your time as money...boils down to keeping your appointments...

You should pay and learn to be on time. Its not a new thing, these fees have been around for a long time.

Even if I miss a hair appointment or something I still pay for it. Any job where you missing an appointment causes the person a monetary loss should be paid for.

They had no problem squeezing smbdy in.

I honestly had no idea about that policy and they never told me that they charged me the first time and waived it. Why would you charge me when im there in the first place?

i'd like to see you driving for long distance and sitting in traffic for half an hour and being late by 10 minutes and then admitting your fault

ahah im always late for my dentist appointments. They just go to the next guy or take a lunch break. no biggie.

and thats what they did. They gave it to another guy 1st while i was there. and most probably they did that seoncd time too. it's $25.

If that policy was stated to me as a patient i would pay--even if it was 100

but since they never did that--i think its unfair.

i thought it was a known fact for missing an apointment they shouldint have to tell you. i gues you learned about it the hard way . how much is the fee? af far as being late . 15 minutes early is on time so you would have been 5 min early if you went my that scale. you probably could have called and been like hey im sitting in traffic and they would have held your apointment
