Minnesota woman to pay $222,000 for sharing copyrighted music online

that's why i'm in car audio. I just take the magnet from my sub, stick my HD to it, poof. If that doesn't work, i'm smashing that bish to pieces
did you bother to read the article?

She had her hard drive replaced; the RIAA didn't need a hard drive to convict her ***.

she was pretty stupid, she used the same name all over the internet and then tried to say that it wasn't her kazza account.

The jury was probably pissed that she just flat out lied and hung her for it.

I never understood which part is illegal, downloading the music, or by letting people upload what you downloaded;sharing? Or is both parts?

In case you are curious, the songs are:

Aerosmith "Cryin'"

Bryan Adams "Somebody"

Def Leppard "Pour Some Sugar on Me"

Destiny's Child "Bills, Bills, Bills"

Janet Jackson "Let's What Awhile

Gloria Estefan "Here We Are"

Gloria Estefan "Coming Out of the Heart"

Gloria Estefan "Rhythm is Gonna Get You"

Goo Goo Dolls "Iris"

Green Day "Basket Case"

Guns N Roses "Welcome to the Jungle"

Guns N Roses "November Rain"

Journey "Faithfully"

Journey "Don't Stop Believing"

Linkin Park "One Step Closer"

No Doubt "Bathwater"

No Doubt "Hella Good"

No Doubt "Different People."

Reba McEntire "One Honest Heart"

Richard Marx "Now and Forever"

Sara McLachlan "Possession"

Sara McLachlan "Building a Mystery"

Sheryl Crow "Run Baby Run"

Vanessa Williams "Save the Best for Last"

The Duluth jury held her liable for $9,250 for each of the 24 songs that were subject to the lawsuit.
it looks like the Rhythm got her.

Just a FYI....(maybe I am paranoid) but your ip is posted on this forum for everyone to see (on one of the member stat pages) so I wouldn't share that you upload or download.

Just to be safe *shrug*

I use bearshare which is perfectly legal.......some song you have to pay for after 20 days, but there are programs available that will strip the copyrights off of the files........i haven't stripped any copyrights yet, but my friend has the software and has stripped the copyrights off of 50+ albums in the past 2 weeks......
well isnt that neat how its now illigeal isnt it.

it still does not give you permission to take someones creations for free.
