NO WAY are you serious?? ive been there twice, once when i was a kid, and once last year. everybody i know from there talks like that, like 15 people with the scandanavian accent (even asian people) heck my mom still talks like that once in a while.

You have go go north (really north - Ely, Virginia, Mountain Iron - "Iron range" cities) to really get into a concentration of the old Swedes/Finns/etc. to get that particular dialect - and in a nutshell, you won't find many, if any, modern day people my age that have gone through the school system with that dialect. My verbal nuances are accurate to the dictionary - not any local dialect of the english language.

lmao yeh, ive been told i have an accent.......stupid socal punks JP!!!! yeh we had a comedian come to our school, all he did was make fun of minnesota, it was hilarious, and it was all true too, how we where shorts and a sweatshirt at the same time, or when its like 40-50 and were walkin around with our shirts off, sooo its nice out.......dont know what he was talkin about it bein cold

Does nobody else do that? Its perfect when its just a little nippy out, you can just shed the sweatshirt later if you get too hot, I'd be very surprised if thats not a universal thing.

I'm from Minnesota. Little town called Sleepy Eye, around New Ulm and such. On the west coast more, though. South west... brown county... near Mankato. I honestly don't know anyone from minnesota who says yeah you betcha and stuff like that... stupid show bobby's world. haha
