Minimum Distance between Magnets

Is there a minimum distance that magents should be kept apart on subs? This picture shows a general idea of what the box and setup looks like. It appears as if the magnets will be just over an inch apart currently.

Yea its not my personaly favorite, but the guy I was helping build it was very very insistance on getting 4 12's under the back seat of his silverado and this was the design he came up with. If its not all that good we will probably try and work on a fiberglass box where all 4 fire foward, or I will try yet again to convince him to drop down to at least 2 12's.

If I were you, I'd convince him to just go with a pair of really nice 12's. What kind of airspace are you lookin at there?

The airspace is just over 1.1 per side and each sub recommends 0.5 per so it is most definitly the bare minimum at least. Even with this design we need to lift the seat about 2" to get the box under it properly.

He is pretty set on wanting 4 12's doesn't seem to care about much else.His brother and I have both been trying to convince him otherwise, but he basically wants to have 4 12's under his back seat and doesn't care about much else. Just trying to make him happy and if he don't like how it sounds after then we will probably build something else with 2 12's instead. The box is almost complete he is just finishing it up while I am at school and then ordering the subs shortly. I will update everyone with how it sounds and works when it is all put together.

Im wanting to do this also, sorry for the bump of an old *** thread, but I couldnt find antyhing else on it. I have an 02 Silverado and for now I have a ported box in the middle of the 2 front seats. I want to use my 2 12" TI's but I dont think they would sound good with that small enclosure under the seat, So Im gonna use my old 12's 8122's. Anyone here have a way to get a hold of this guy? he hasnt been here since he posted this //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif I need some plans like that for the box. Im gonna raise my seat 2 inches if that helps.
