well i think my alt might be going. i get low voltage drops now. my wires are brand new everything is re wirted with new wires so it rules that out for now, new remotes rcas power and ground . battery is only 2-3 yrs old so im sure thats ok as well.
but my voltage meter will say about 12.4 or roughly that when car is off so m pretty sure the bat is holding a decent charge as well.but on the other hand when i start my car it drops down to 11 or 10 volts at crank but then slowly goes up within 3-5 seconds. goes from 10 or 11 to 11.5 to 12, 12.5, 13, 13.5,14 just like that or roughly same voltage increases .
before my voltage used to go straight up to 14.5 and stay there. now it takes a few seconds to get back to the 14+ volts. but while i drive and my music is paused or off my voltage doesnt go behiond 14 anymore. it stays right at 14 volts. and if my music play it will almost dicharge to 12.5-12 volts sometimes lower. my battery used to charge while car was on at 14.5-14.7 volts steady.
signs of a bad alt? im thinking so. i can get it rewound to a 320 or lower i believe it was by a reputable place for $175.
