lol im not against jl w6 its a decent sub... like i said ive ran and sold it on this forum... just against that 450 price tag... knowing you could do so much better... and if jl is so great on sq setups how come almost no sq setups run the w6 thinks like if there was that many wins with such great sound all sq guys would run em... yet i rarely see in sigs.. and ive never seen in a sq sig... im on ca.com maf.com,caco,diyma,csco, and a few others.. i myself wasnt impressed ... i have two rides one complete spl one complete sq... the xd 8s killed the jl on output, power, and sq... but all enclose and setup is custom... (test was 2 xd8s vs 1 10w6v2)

People in SQ contests need their head examined. There is no such thing as an SQ contest. This is just a money

making organization

If you want to win an SQ contest, then you better follow

the rules and hope your install satisfies whomever is judging the sound as their perception of SQ is what

determines your success. Very counterproductive and

a waste of money IMO.

Build something you like and ditch contests.

SPL contests are a different story as there is only one

simple goal and it can be measured.

Who judges SQ comps? Everyone has different opinions of what sounds good. What sounds good to one May not to another. There is no real definition of SQ because it's different for everyone

yet i have won and placed in sq comps... cant wait to get home to post my pics... lol you can do the same? lol

... but again like i said ... jl 12w6 is a decent sub... no doubt... just dont like that 450 pricetag... we could go back and forth all day on the sq spl thing because we are trying to prove something that is opinion not fact.... sq is like a beauty pageants its what the judges feel is winner... i think most the chicks that win werent the best looking... lol its all in perception... i hope ur happy with ur jl... i was for a long time...

I was going to wait on the SW3512 but I think this running at 2ohm will fit my goals better.

I need to find out just how large I can go on the box. 2-2.5 cubes

Lowest I've ever been able to find BNIB from an authorized dealer was 399 for the 12W6v3 locally. This was during their huge store wide sale they have twice a year though.

That's what I'm currently running. It's on a XD1000/1v2 in a 2 cu ft box tuned to 33hz in a wagon. It's an impressive 12" sub but once you bring price into it, it becomes up to you whether or not it's "worth it". If you just want to shake the car to bits and have everyone hear you coming a few blocks away there are cheaper options.

I will say I've been pushing the 12 pretty hard and for long periods of time. The cooling on it is really good. Never gets hot and keeps consistent output.

Next I'll be getting a 15" SSA ICON though. Want to see how it compares. It should ship soon, I ordered it May 23rd. Got it on sale for 338. Made in the USA.

Lol I am getting a DD M3C to run the ICON and have enough juice left to add a second. A second 12w6 would've made me a happy camper too though.

I had a XCON for a few months.

Nothing wrong with it. Very basic design and sound. Better than the DC subs I've had but that's nothing to write home about.

The design on the W6s is very nice. I mean they have 6 patents on it. I may throw the ICON in my daily and get a second 12w6 for my Volvo.

My install is going to be more than a box in the hatch with a bunch of wiring laying around and I love the aesthetics of the W6. They would fit much better with the look I'm going for.

I do love the W6v3s. I even put the 10" in my girlfriends car.
