Nice pic... but that is besides the points.
I too was um, curious about the ways of the FG... so a buddy came over one day and we decided to try it.
We learned many things. One... when you think you have your matt/resin deep/hard enough... keep going.
Two, for easy placement of the rings, use dowels or 1x2 or something and secure it with superglue and kicker. It is AMAZING! Was the coolest thing we learned ever... oh, but don't get it on your fingers, eyes, or mams.. bad things there.
Three, read the how-tos out there and learn from their experience. One thing I was not prepared for was the smell. yes its bad, and it kinda made me high. But, you will get a massive head ache too... good v. bad
Four, building a box for 18's is fun but the size and surface area is a killer.
Five, if you plan to paint the box, you CANNOT do enough sanding. We used carpet and I am still surprised how well it turned out.
Not to mention paying someone money (especially lotso of it) to do something you can do yourself is something you will regret later. Besides you can then incorporate your new FG skills into your livelihood and reap the benefits.
