Mids blowns again?

I have a set of MTX Comps that I bought a year ago. Since then, Ive had to replace them twice because of a blown mid, and now the same thing has happened to the third set. The first 2 times, I was powering them off my headunit, and they blew within a month. I installed a amp since then and the third set have been running strong for 5 months this time but now one of the mids is not working again. I dont really care that much because I will be getting new speakers soon anyways but I was just wondering if its something to do with the install? or are the MTX's just poorly made?

your ears must not be sensitive enough to hear distortion......set your gains with a dmm

But if they were going to blow because of distortion wouldn't that of happened a long time ago? they have been running 5 months fine. I thought if it was due to distortion then it would of happened with a month like the first 2 times.
