Miami residents & people who have been to Miami. need your advice.

I'm planning a little vacation. Want to go to Miami for 2 weeks.

Just need general advice - beaches,clubs, hotels.

I guess my main question is the hotel. Want to pick the one that's fairly reasonable and right next to the beach.

Planning on spending the whole time like this: Morning sleeping, Day @ the beach, Night in the clubs.

clubs go to mansion, opium gardens , prive', wet willies is good too for grain alcohal frozen drinks

if ur into that rave shit space is da spot but not right there with everything else

find a hotel off collins ave or washington that where south beach and alot of the best clubs are there

stirip clubs go to tootsies in ft lauderdale is my fav

hotels meh i live an hour away so cant help ya there

I've heard theres a newly renovated Embassy Suites with plasma tvs in every room for under 100 a night, i don't know if its still under 100 during the summer though.. Its in Ft Lauderdale near the beach, I'll try to take a look.

yeah my firned told me to fly/stay in Ft Lauderdale - he said its 30 mins away from MIA and will save me a good amount of money

Miami Beach, South Beach, Coral Gables, Coconut Grove are all good places.

Agreed... Worst drivers in America in Miami. I don't think I've ever spent a day there without seeing an accident happen or an accident that just occurred on the side of the road.

If you want to stay in a shit-hole, stay on collins or washington ave in south beach...that is, unless you have like $400-$500/night to drop on a decent place. I'd recommend staying at the Claridge Hotel which is on 35th and Collins, about 15 blocks away from all the bullshit. Its a short / cheap cab ride to the clubs, shopping, etc and the beach is directly in front of you, about a 1min walk across a sidewalk, and its not packed with eurotrash. I stay here every year when im in miami working.

i stayed at the comfort inn on commercial in Lauderdale. was decent. not near the beach, but had strip clubs with in walking distance, and there was a nice bar, the Frog and Toad around the corner. The Porthole club was a cool place. Most of my time was spent in Lauderdale. Did a few drives into Miami, but was not to impressed. South beach was cool to see. Saw where Jonny varsachi was gunned down. and all the exotic cars and chicks walking around. I did find some night club down near the river/inlet/intercoastal. what ever they call it there... but it was all men hanging around outside so i didnt check it out. You may be interested in it im not sure. Have fun.

not being impressed by miami is not a surprise coming from someone who can't spell versace correctly.

nah, wasnt me, i dont hang out there. im usually standing behind a dj booth somewhere downtown in an unmarked building with about 3,000 people inside.

i think thats the biggest reason people think miami sucks, because they only go to sobe...which does actually ****, a lot.
