Well my TermLab USB showed up today, after about 4 hours of getting **** windows XP on my computer I got it working.. O man is it fun..
Anway, I pull my car up with my single 7", 4 cubes, 49hz.. Its being sent 160 watts right now, I play a song to see what it is, then i got to the tones.. Play a couple sweeps and then just sines.. Highest score - 131.4.. So we move on to our "Stock Division" lol, pulled up all my friends cars and metered their stock sound system, got like 115 dbs' , highest score was about 118 db's i think..
So then my friend has his car pull up with 2 12" Kenwood dB+'s and a 1200 watt amp.. "GO!" He basically does what I did, some sweeps at full output, then some tones.. were all watching the screen, 130.4>130.8>131.0> 132.1 being as high as he could hit and the Ending score, "SH*T he beat me.." That was in a dual chamber plywood .75 cu ft per chamber sealed box.. So then we take my 7" out, make a baffle for a single 12" and throw one of the dB+'s in my 4 cube 49 hz box.. Once again, only 160 watts off my component amp.. After screwing with the box placement a little we manage to hit a 133.1 with the 49hz sine wave! So we made the brackets on the Termrpo software and i came out second place overall..
Lesson - 1 7" sub CAN beat ur 2 12" 1200 watt setup.. dont be cocky, lol.. But really, shows install is everything, in this case more specifically the box.. We cut the power by 1/6, and had 1 less sub, and hit a higher score..
For sure we will be having another mini competition tommarow, and were determined to ge that baby up to a 134 without more wattage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif .
