metallica's best songs

Everything pre - "I Disappear". That was truly the beginning of the end for me (yeah, I even liked Reload //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif).

No Leaf Clover is probably my favorite, I loved all the S&M songs, I think the orchestra blends in perfectly.

Of Wolf and Man

Damage Inc.

Frayed Ends of Sanity

Leper Messiah

Creeping Death

Trapped Under Ice

Hero of the Day

Jump in the Fire

The Unforgiven II

Ain't My *****

Don't Tread on Me

Battery

Seek and Destroy

Wherever I May Roam

Blitzkrieg

Hit the Lights

Escape

Blackened

Low Man's Lyric

Wow... I need to drop the rap for awhile... I haven't really listened to all that much Metallica since my computer crashed and I lost all my mp3's (Yes Lars, I bought all of the CD's also). I'll have to rotate in some Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets.

I never really listened to them before the Black album, but I do like some of the older stuff. However, I'm more into the later... Black, Load & Reload, S&M and Garage, Inc.

I've never understood what everyone's problem was with them in their changing of style. They were still rock, just not hard core metal... I mean, come on, the guys had been playing that hard core metal style for 15 years by then... they kinda just... changed. You know? I'm a whole different person than I was 15 years ago, and while I do still like some of the same music, I do believe my perspective would change a bit in the interim, which naturally is going to affect my artistic creativity, don't ya think???

Shit, Hetfield was 20 when Kill 'Em All came out... and 33 when Load came out. How different were you at 33 from 20 (to those who are even that age yet)? I can tell you I'm about 1000% different now than I was then.

Oh well.

Granted no one in this thread is attacking them for "selling out" as I've heard so many do, so kudos for that... just mainly stating a preference (except one *** who made some "sissy" reference).

Whatever, I like the newer stuff, but I haven't listened to St. Anger (even though I've had it for like 3 years, lol).

I think the ones that get me most pumped by them are:

Harvester of Sorrow

One

Sad But True

Devil's Dance

Fuel

So What

Turn the Page

Bleeding Me

Wasting My Hate (based on a Hetfield incident with his friend Waylon Jennings, believe it or not!)

Poor Twisted Me

Better Than You

Just a few.... ****, I gotta get my new subs and amp in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

the newer ones are good too not as good as the old stuff. The older stuff had more instrumentals/solos. 2 minutes of guitars and kick drums before he even said a word and more after hes done singing is priceless. The new stuff seems to be lazy, and lars doesnt seem to sing with any passion anymore especially after the black label //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

egg

Lars doesn't sing....unless it's back up on a song. James is the lead singer, with Kirk being the main back up vocals

I think they kept their song writing talents to par with Load and ReLoad. The two albums should have been a single one, with a lot of the filler shit left out. S&M was a ****ing masterpiece. St Anger....well, it has 3 listenable songs...but overall....blegh. I don't think they sold out with the Loads, but St Anger is pushing it.

Still my favorite metal band.
