metalhead needs a ported box design for a 12" Pioneer TS-W3003D4

You're thinking of the RE box calc, the12v has just volume calculators and a port length calculator that's within a few tenths of an inch compared to winisd.
I figured out what the problem was anyway.
winisd and 12 volt are both cr@p because they both dont account in port displacement. They assume you will do that yourself which most people wont and when you do account that in, your airspace will be different and you will have to input in a different airspace which the calculator will give you a different port length and you'll do that over and over and never get a definitive number, its a never ending paradox. Thats why only google sketchup, autocad are the most accurate because its a full 3d model, followed up by xplicit audio ultimate car app's box calculator and then torres box calculator in that order. 12 volt, winisd and RE calculator has no place in the actual box dimensions and design.

I drilled a 3/8 hole to run my 12awg wire into the box but didn't seal around it. The wire fit snug in the hole but wasn't completely sealed. Now sure how much difference it would have made if I sealed around the hole...

I'm going to keep the box as is. I caulked inside and out. Going to epoxy the hole around the wire into the box. Install and check things out friday.

I use the 12v to figure my port length and check it against winisd then I figure out my sub, port and bracing displacements, add those to the desired volume for the sub then play around with dimensions on the12v volume calc till I have the size I need to accommodate everything. Used this method for over 20 boxes. You have to know what you are doing but it's simple and effective for round port designs.

r u kidding?.. a round is far more efficient and saves space... I use em all the time.
Just depends on the application/Install
Do not!! Last several enclosures you made had slot ports //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Nobody homie.....port noise.

Yeah... a lot do that don’t mind buying a port. No noise at all unless the ratio is jacked which can happen with a slot as well.

I've done more than a few this year... lol... I don't post EVERY box I do... but you're right... I have put up pics of mostly slot ports... those big SUV boxes are easy to do and when built by someone else its usually the owners preference... and the price of a pair of 4", 1 or 2 6" or an 8-10" aero usually scares em off as well... PVC works ok... but folks dont like the look... IDK... I'm a wood/screws and glue guy... I like it basic. I even cheap out on carpet settling on Krylon most the time, hey... as long as it sounds right and pounds I'm happy

everyone. They are superior efficiency wise by far. Just harder to get proper amounts of port area since port area is set in stone with pvc sizes.
If you arent convinced, go into deeep detail on why aeros are way better than slots proven mathematically too.
